As in nature, the METABOLICA cycle begins with photosynthesis, water and carbon dioxide. The algae meander through a transparent tube system, absorb light and grow. HYDRA, a hybrid of whale, submarine and photobioreactor, filters the water like the baleen of a whale to pump algae biomass into the FATTY FANTASY sculpture for enrichment with fatty acids.
