In the sculpture REFINERY, the bacteria cultivated in MS MOL and MR MOL are separated from the process water, dried and purified. The result is a fine powder, which is filled into tins.
The arrangement of glass asks, pipework, tubes, pumps and lters alludes to a petrochemical refinery which, in its biochemical refunctioning, sculpts a PHB molecule. Reflected on the floor is the molecule as a cloud of text, its ring-shaped atoms composed of the short story DEAR EARTH DEARTH.
