anthracite coal, 15 x 63 x 47 cm

Parallel to the drawings made with self-produced coal, the exhibition also includes sculptures made of ancient anthracite coal: a typewriter, a cylinder head, a sewing machine, a microscope, and books. They emerge from roughly hewn blocks of coal, recalling fossils. The objects are still familiar to us, and yet they belong to a past age. FUTUR II thus has a melancholic feel about it, and reads like a break, for the future that we know and experience is about to become something that will have been.
