DAIMON, 2007-2018
network installation, wood objects, cables, computer/mechatronic/audio technology, dimensions variable
software: Peter Chiochetti
mechatronics: Stefan Göschl
exhibition view: Daemons in the Machine, Moscow Museum of Modern Art, Moscow 2018
supported by Laboratoria Art & Science and Kaspersky Lab
DAIMON translates information processes into movement and sound. When cyber threats detected by the Internet security company Kaspersky, the objects begin to vibrate and to emit low-frequency sounds. By making visible and materialising cyber attacks related to the Internet of Things, we become aware of data activities reminiscent of animism and fetishism.
