Schwitzbild, 2020
Methylene blue, aluminium lacquer, polyester on canvas, hydraulic system, 200 x 150 cm
As soon as visitors step in front of the painting, the topographically modelled canvas begins to sweat. Blue liquid seeps out of the pores, oozes over the canvas and drips onto the floor. The methylene blue is a homage to Yves Klein's cocktails, which he had served on the occasion of the opening of the exhibition Le Vide at the Iris Clert Gallery. Methylene blue colours bodily fluids such as sweat, tears and urine blue.
